Principal’s Note
Parent/Teacher conferences were a wonderful time of connection and planning in our classrooms. Additionally, this last month our entire staff participated in professional development that brought a revived excitement for our social/emotional work and STEM based extension lessons within our Montessori classrooms. As we march into the busy months ahead of holidays, winter and fun… we want to recognize our deep appreciation for all our families and our school partners. You are what make Parkcenter a great place to be!
Candy Swap Shop: Now Open!
Do you ever feel like the sweet treats of the holiday are overwhelming? This year, Miss Lila’s opened a pop up shop! If you’re child would like to bring in some unused Halloween candy to trade for some items in my shop, I’d love to make the “swap”! Shop items are a first come basis and we will close shop once all items have all gone. We’re trying to help trade out those sugary sweets for something different.
We are looking for a picture of your child’s Halloween costume! If you have a photo you’d like to share, please check out our Facebook page (Boise Montessori) and post your child’s photo. We’d love to see those creative costumes!
November School Closing

Thankful Giving
In our classrooms we are talking about what being “thankful” looks like and how what we contribute to our families, our school and our community. During the holiday season, help us model this discussion at home. Our school will be holding two community events this year:
November: Food Drive to support Idaho Food Bank
Bring in any non-perishable food items to donate to your child’s classroom food collection. Our collection will end on 11/22/2016 by 12:30 and donated to Idaho Food Bank. For more information on the IFB, follow this link: www.idahofoodbank.org
December: Diaper Drive to support Idaho Diaper Bank
In lieu of our annual Giving Tree, we are supporting the Idaho Diaper Bank by collecting any unused diapers (for babies and adults). More information to come in next month’s newsletter.
